On this January 15th, 2018, the mining Gem Diamonds company announced the discovery in its mine of Letsend in Lesotho of a diamond exceptional.
It weighs 910 carats. It goes into the top 5 of the biggest ever discovered diamonds.
Lesotho has already produced some one of the biggest diamonds in the World.
The biggest diamond in the World is always Cullinan, discovered in 1905 in South Africa (3106 carats).

Van Cleef and Arpels exposes Place Vendôme in Paris about twenty ballerinas created between 1941 and 1993.
Louis Arpels was a big amateur of operas and ballets, in the 40s in New York. It inspired a series of " clips ballerinas(ballet pumps) ".
The used precious stones sublimate the movement of these ballerinas.

AIGS & GGTL Announce the creation of ‘Gem Alliance’
The AIGS (Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences) Laboratory and the GGTL announced that they are forming the Gem Alliance, a cooperation based on the sharing of information and gemological data.
The decision was taken by the AIGS Lab chairman, Kennedy Ho, and the founders of the GGTL, Franck Notari and Dr. Thomas Hainschwang.
Kennedy Ho said, “We recognized that by working together, we make our labs stronger, which led to the decision to form this alliance.”
The AIGS Lais based in Bangkok. The AIGS serves the gem and jewelry industry and the public alike with a comprehensive range of gemstone and jewelry analysis reports.
The AIGS is also a school of gemology.
The AIGS was founded by the Ho Group. It will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2018.
GGTL (GemLab and GemTechLab), are based in Geneva and Liechtenstein. They are a 20 year old full-service, independent gemological testing laboratories.
GGTL was founded and managed by two gemological experts and researchers Franck Notari and Dr. Thomas Hainschwang.
